I am sure that by now everyone has heard about iPhonography. This is old news to many of you. But I would still like to talk about it. It is a great way to express yourself without a thousand dollar camera. You can take it anywhere and allows you to be creative on the fly!.
Just the other day, I went out for a ride on my motorcycle. I always ride down the boulevard and check out the ocean. Well on this particular fall day, The weather was perfect. I became inspired and needed to take a few shots. Of course i am not going to lug around a two thousand dollar camera. So what’s the next best thing? My iPhone 4S! This shot below is one of my favorite shots from that day. And it shows that you do not need to have an expensive camera to capture an awesome shot!
Not only is is a great device for snapping shots of those moments that you want to remember, but it is also an artistic tool. Well, that’s what it is to me anyway. It allows me to be creative at a moments notice. And that is great for me since I am a spur of the moment type of person….Something that the wife is not to fond of….But when something inspires you, it inspires you. You never know when it will happen. So when it does, I act. I’m sure that is how it is for many artists. Something just comes to them out of the blue and they have to act on it before the moment it gone. Not to many people understand that. It’s just the life of an artist.
So the other day, I decided to just sit down and draw something. I had no idea what I wanted to draw, but I had the urge to draw something. The I realized, why not practice some of the basic things that I learned when I was in school. Perspective, I feel, is a very important part of graphic design. You can also apply it to other mediums. So I decided I would refresh myself on 2 point perspective. I can’t believe how much I missed and enjoyed drawing without the aid of a computer. Of course everyone says design starts on paper and is just refined on a computer. So here is my 2 point perspective drawing. I will be doing many more drawings as I feel that I have not dedicated enough time to the actual art of designing. Hope you guys like it. Be on the look out for more as I have a feeling that there will be many more drawings to come!!!
I had the privilege and honor to have a photo session with a very special little girl. To be the only one that is allowed to photograph her, is a great feeling. She was a princess for the day and it was her castle!
